CURRICULUM VITAE (overview):

Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Alfred Beringer, M.Sc., Lutheran, was born in 1953 at Vienna in Austria. From 1971 to 1975 he studied Technical Mathematics at the Vienna University of Technology. 1976 he got a scholarship within the bi-national exchange program of the governments of Austria and the USA (Fulbright-Program); 1976 and 1977 he studied and taught Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics at Syracuse University at Syracuse in New York, USA. After his return to Europe he was Teaching Assistant at the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Mining at Leoben for two years. Then he worked as a System-Analyst and a System-Programmer in the Computer-Department of a big private Austrian industrial company in Vienna (Kapsch A.G.) for four years.

From 1984 to 2013 he mainly was teaching at the Higher Department of Data Processing and Organisation at the "HTBLVA fuer Textilindustrie und Datenverarbeitung" in Vienna 5. From 1989 to 2007 he was leader of the Special Interest Group "Programming".

From 1996 to 2019 he was teaching at the "UDA - Austrian Partner of International Universities" in Vienna 5. He was the Austrian module-leader for "Advanced Programming Methodology (APM)", "Advanced Software Engineering Techniques (ASET)" and "Object Oriented Methods in Computing (OOM)". He also was supervisor for students who were working on their "Final Year Projects" and "Honours Degree Projects", resp.

In the academic year 2016/17 he was teaching the module OOM not only at the Spengergasse in Vienna but also at the HTL Imst in Tyrol.

From 2008 to 2015 he was teaching Mathematics in the Bachelor degree program "Civil Engineering and Construction Management" at the department Building and Design at the University of Applied Sciences Campus Vienna in Vienna 10.

He is author and co-author of several books about data processing.
Since 2001 sometimes he is teaching courses in the area of programming (in particular Java) outside the public domain.

He was a member of the team for the project "ONIBES" (Online/Offline Information Systems for Vocational Schools). This project ran within the LEONARDO-Program of the EU. It began on Dec. 1st, 1995 and ended on Nov. 30th, 1997.

He was a founding member and the secretary of the association "Verein zur Foerderung nationaler und internationaler Projekte an der Hoeheren Technischen Bundeslehr- und Versuchsanstalt fuer Textilindustrie und Datenverarbeitung" ("FOeNIP TEXDAT"). This society was the partner of the project ONIBES.

He is a founding member and right now the co-secretary of the association "UDA - Austrian Partner of International Universities". Within the UDA he was teaching for the "University of Derby" in Derby, England and the "University of Central Lancashire" in Preston, England.
